Speech
At Chatterbird Speech and Language Services, we specialize in the assessment of speech sound disorders to determine a starting point for intervention. Once intervention begins, a combination of evidence-based practice and child-led activities are utilized to improve overall intelligibility and help your child develop age-appropriate speech sound production.
Language
We provide comprehensive language assessment to accurately depict your child's ability to understand and produce language. Using a combination of evidence-based practice, parent coaching, and play-based activities, we work to support your child's acquisition of functional communication skills.
Oral Motor & Feeding
We are committed to assessing and addressing the underlying reasons why your child may be having difficulty during mealtimes. Using a whole-child approach, we strive to help your child develop oral-motor and sensory integration skills necessary for safe and effective feeding.

Hi, I'm Kristina Baur, M.A., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
My name is Kristina Baur and I am the proud owner of Chatterbird Speech and Language Services. I earned my master's degree in Communications Sciences and Disorders from Long Island University @ C.W. Post. I hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and am licensed in the state of New York. For the past 10+ years, I have been fortunate to work in different settings, including pediatric home health, preschools/early learning centers, private practice, and teletherapy providing quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to young children with various speech, language, and feeding disorders. I am also a PROMPT II level trained therapist.
Today, I bring all my experience from these settings into my own private practice to provide evidence-based treatment tailored to meet each child's individual needs. I am committed to a play-based and family-focused therapy approach that empowers caregivers with the tools necessary to facilitate language during daily routines and promotes the generalization of skills into everyday life. My priority when working with children is to ensure they are having fun, because children often learn best when they don't even realize they are learning! I am dedicated to getting to know each child, developing relationships with the child and caregivers, and getting to know specific interests in order to consistently make sessions fun and engaging.
In my free time, I can often be found spending quality time with my husband, son, and beagle. I also enjoy browsing toy aisles for new and fun therapy items and traveling, often looking for unique little getaways!
